We are happy to announce that Industrial Sonomechanics (ISM) will participate in the 2019 CannaCon Expo and Conference in Springfield, MA, which will take place on August 23 - 24th, 2019. At the event's seminar, ISM's President and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Alexey Peshkovsky, will deliver a presentation entitled "Turn-Key Ultrasonic Technology for the Production of Translucent “Water-Soluble” Cannabis Extract Nanoemulsions".
Seminar Summary
Cannabinoids are insoluble in water and, as such, difficult to deliver into the bloodstream. When consumed orally, they undergo a slow and inefficient process of gastrointestinal absorption, leading to a delayed onset of action as well as low and unpredictable bioavailability. In his presentation, Dr. Peshkovsky will explain how to design and manufacture translucent, permanently stable, fully water-compatible cannabinoid nanoemulsions, which are efficiently absorbed by the body via many convenient administration routes (e.g., as beverages, edibles and topicals). Several categories of water-compatible bio-active ingredient formulations will be compared, with translucent nanoemulsions emerging as the preferred type. Absorption pathways of nano-emulsified cannabinoids from the small intestine into the bloodstream will also be discussed.
If you are interested in learning more, please come by and listen to Dr. Peshkovsky's talk!
