Recap: 1st International Conference in Ultrasonics Food and Technology

Industrial Sonomechanics (ISM) was honored to participate in the 1st International Conference in Ultrasonics Food and Technology hosted by TEAGASC in Dublin, Ireland, this past week.

We extend our sincere thanks to the organizers for hosting a successful inaugural event and to all the attendees, many of whom ISM President and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Alexey Peshkovsky, had the pleasure of meeting throughout the conference.

We also want to thank everyone who attended Dr. Peshkovsky's keynote address, "Industrial-Scale High-Amplitude Ultrasound for Food and Beverage Applications," in which he explored the growing role of high-amplitude ultrasound in food and beverage processing, including applications such as nano-emulsification, extraction of bioactive compounds, and in-line degassing.

In his address, Dr. Peshkovsky also highlighted how ISM's patented Barbell Horn® Ultrasonic Technology (BHUT) addresses longstanding scale-up challenges that have historically limited industrial implementation of high-amplitude ultrasound, and that by enabling continuous-flow processing at industrial scale, BHUT can help manufacturers improve process efficiency, formulation flexibility, and product quality.

We appreciated the thoughtful questions from the audience and the engaging conversations that followed, and are excited by the opportunities for future collaboration and innovation as interest in scalable ultrasonic processing technologies continues to grow across the food and beverage industry.

Alexey Peshkovsky, Ph.D (1)Dr. Alexey Peshkovsky is the founder, president, and chief scientific officer of Industrial Sonomechanics. He holds a B.A. degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from Columbia University. With over 25 years of experience as a researcher, entrepreneur, product developer, and scientific director, Dr. Peshkovsky's work has primarily focused on instrumentation design and process development across multiple industries.

Dr. Peshkovsky is the primary author of numerous scientific papers, patents, conference presentations, and books.
