The congress, which took place in Caprica, Portugal, on June 6th - 8th, 2016, was a very educational and productive experience. A wide variety of topics related to ultrasonics were covered by presenters from industrial, academic and government institutions worldwide. ISM's presentation was part of the Ultrasound and Engineering topic group.
In the presentation, Alexey concentrated on:
- Introducing high-amplitude ultrasonic processing as an attractive technology for a wide range of industries;
- Demonstrating how scale-up limitations of conventional ultrasonic processing are overcome with ISM's Barbell Horn Ultrasonic Technology (BHUT);
- Illustrating how laboratory-to-industrial productivity scale-up factors can be determined for various processes;
- Showing successful implementation of BHUT for nano-emulsification, wet milling (nano-crystallization), cell disruption, dispersing and degassing.
